Peace, all.
Anyone on here ever been diagnosed with COPD or at least told that there was a possibility that you have it? Doctors just told me that they think that I have it, although they haven't done any of the preliminary tests. Would be really helped by talking with someone that might have dealt with something like this. Thanks in advance!

Re: COPD?
Mon, February 20, 2006 - 11:21 AMME! Me ! I'm a COPD. without a clue to the why for or what causes
but I have 3 different type inhalers ;;o
I always thought it would be some other body part that would get but Not my Lungs......
though once i wrote my history down of lung afflictions to try & get to the root I was Amazed at the injuries done to them; if it had been on the outside of my body Whoo Hee it's be nasty looking {{
I suspect the toppler was a virus I caught in China 10 years ago that if it didn't kill me should have made me stronger but it scarred the Lungs so the elasticity is not there & the Plueral Sac is inflated with air~~~ adding to difficulty.
When my Dr diagnosed me after listening to my Lungs I asked her, "what is yr prognosis?" & she looked at me & said "Whhaat?" So I asked "Do you think I will get better??" & she replied
"I'll try & be sure you don't get worse..." That! put a scare on me.
& since then different health situations will classify me as Asthmatic by checking their box choices but that's not exactly the problem.....
COPD is a general classification with general approaches to healling or not approaching a possibility of the Lungs healing. My Dr has been amazed that I improved such a great amount
(then I landed in the hospital with Pnuemonia for New Years)
I do attribute my regaining energy to heal with her allopathic approaches & medications but I also Know that my use of Supplements to heal the tissues was the significant difference in me actually healing. I use 300mg of Niacin, the flushing kind, every am with other supplements & meds, to Open the Alveoli & Cappilaries of my body. It is like jump starting the juices & air intake.
I also use NAC 3x a day for tissue healing. That is Cysteine & the Lungs like a lot of it to create new tissue. Also A, E, & C with Bioflavenoids separately amongst my many other supplements. -

Re: COPD?
Tue, February 28, 2006 - 2:06 PMThanks for this! I also think that COPD is being used as an umbrella to over a very broad spectrum of lung/respiratory conditions. I also think that the pharmaceutical companies are pushing doctors to rachet up the diagnoses, since people with COPD are being perceived by pharmaceutical companies as an up and coming market. That has made a little suspicious of the ways in which doctors are giving out diagnoses of COPD. Some follow an actual protocol of tests, while others just proclaim it. Since most people are not familiar with the acronym or the phenomenon, there's not lots of organising around it yet.
I really appreciate the info on the supplements and will progressively introduce them into my regimen. Right now, I am responding to this with acupuncture, yoga, shiatsu, herbal medicine, meditation, and allopathy. I think that I am choosing to focus on breath as the key to life and health and not to focus on the diagnosis per se, since I'm still not quite sure what it actually means!

Re: COPD?
Wed, March 1, 2006 - 9:20 AMI had not put it into exact words but certainly Did have the feeling you have expressed about clumping 'COPD' diagnoses. Though I had severe Lung difficulties when I 1st ascribed to my Dr I have never felt she looked hard for a reason but declared when I asked her the prognosis that
"...she would try to keep me from getting worst." & I am listed with 'whatever' breathing or no breathing problems with various other institutes for tests or protocols as seems to be the easiest habitual box to check *~* I like the emergency room 8 hour stay for Pneumonia - "Possible Pneumonia!" as being described as "no breathing problems..." you say what????
Course the report also claimed it "hurt more after I eat" but as I hadn't been able to swallow food in 6 days Yeahhh it might hurt after I eat {{{{*~*}}}}
The lead in to the question while I was on Serious pain drip was "...But if you could eat would it hurt more after??" Well yeahh maybe I suppose.... Can I have more drip now nurse???
I do have to give credit to the various inhalers for their help but as said the alternative self help modes are what have created revived health. I have been fortunate to get a lot of Allopathic treatments that I other wise would not have tried or gone so that path if I had my druthers where the $$ should be spent but after years of telling the allopathic inclined to "try & use everything to be well & healthy".... I have had to eat some crow & do so the opposite direction }}
I too would otherwise pursue the methods you are using Baha'uddin.
Also in my experience it seems that 'the Obstruction' maybe something more either Neural or Unfound in that the Throat muscles actually exhaustvery easily = Swalloing difficutlties & air sometimes has to be swallowed or rather I use breathing to help me also swallow..... which took me long to understand or catch myself doing this unconcious new trait but it didn't seem to impress the allopathics as important..... Uhh I think there may be a connection & so I agree it is important, decades after the frightening suggestion, that I Do learn the yoga of breathing or relearn some of the bad habits my body has created.
I think there are numerous factors that have led up to my 'Lung Condition", lol 3 pages of written past history *O* that my Dr glanced at>>>> but once in awhile I hear this young neurotical fanatic of Health food & Alternative ways that worked at almost the 1st health food store I ever walked into say to me unbidded -"If You! don't learn to breathe Properly! You will Die!! Do it like This!" So of course he scared me, little unknowing hippie girl right out of there {! wondering what did he mean by that>>>>
& it has come back to haunt me as I so supertitiously believe in accidently 'cursing' people.....
like you can't call in sick & make up an excuse that ____ is sick or a funeral Cause it'll happen
Hmmmmmm,,,, anyone know a good Lung Exorcist???
